Annual Fee

An annual fee for credit cards is a yearly charge assessed by some card issuers for the use of their credit products. This fee is generally assessed on an account anniversary date, which is the date the account was opened or last renewed. Many issuers will waive the annual fee for new accounts during the first year or for customers who meet certain spending thresholds. There are also some cards that do not assess an annual fee at all.
