Card-present (CP) Transactions

A card-present transaction is defined as a financial transaction between a merchant and consumer, in which the cardholder present his or her card to the merchant physically. Card-present transactions are distinguished from card-not-present transactions, in which the cardholder is not required to be physically present at the time of purchase.
