A chargeback is a request made by a cardholder to their card issuer, asking them to reverse a transaction on their credit or debit card. Chargebacks can be made for a variety of reasons, including fraud, incorrect or unauthorized transactions, damaged or undelivered goods, and more. If a chargeback is granted, the card issuer will refund the cardholder's money and the merchant will be charged a fee.
