A credit reporting agency (CRA) is a company that collects and stores financial data about consumers. This information is used to create credit reports which are then used by lenders, landlords, employers and other organizations to evaluate an individual’s creditworthiness. The three main credit reporting agencies in the United States are Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.
