Mixed File

A mixed file in credit reporting occurs when two or more individuals’ information is combined on one report mistakenly. This can happen if the information on the reports is similar enough that it leads to incorrect conclusions. The credit bureaus are then unable to determine which information belongs to whom, and as a result, both parties’ data is placed onto the same report.
