Thin File

A thin file is a term used by credit scorers to describe a borrower’s credit history that is limited in the amount of information available. This type of credit file typically contains one or two accounts and has limited information regarding the borrower’s payment history over time. A thin file may also be referred to as a thin credit file or narrow credit report.
