Chip-enabled Terminal

A chip-enabled terminal is a type of payment terminal that is able to accept chip-based cards. These cards are often called "smart cards" and have an embedded computer chip that stores and protects the information on the card. The chip-enabled terminal uses this chip to authenticate the card and authorize transactions.
