Showrooming

Showrooming is the practice of visiting a brick-and-mortar store to examine a product before buying it online. The customer essentially uses the store as a showroom, taking advantage of the physical location’s resources—such as knowledgeable sales staff and the ability to inspect merchandise—before completing the purchase elsewhere. Many retailers are struggling to find ways to combat showrooming, which often leads to lost sales.
