"All items are in good vintage condition. The lawn balls have minor cracks, and the letter bag is unstitched on one side."
Discover the legacy of Percy Baker with these authentic EJ Riley Lignum Vitae Lawn Bowls. Marked with official stamps and the initials 'EB', these bowls were cherished by the legendary bowler himself.
Please take a look at the photos to evaluate the condition for yourself.
The lawn bowls feature official BIB stamps, with the earliest date marked as 1950, confirming that the pair dates back to that year. The maker's mark, E.J. Riley, indicates they are crafted from Lignum Vitae, a high-quality material typically used by prominent players. The presence of BIB stamps further verifies their use in international competitions.
The initials "E.B." on the lawn bowls suggest that they belonged to Edwin Percy Baker, the only prominent player of that era with those initials.
The accompanying photographs are stamped by The Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph, with exact dates provided, confirming their authenticity and historical accuracy.
The newspaper, dated January 18, 1966, is in vintage condition, further substantiating its authenticity.
The Bowls Measure tool, housed in its original box and bearing the maker's mark, is also authentic. Although it did not belong to Percy Baker, it has been included to complete the collection.
