The John Rabone No. 1206 caliper gauge features engraved scales for both circumference and diameter, with a sliding rule that reveals tables of breaking loads for steel ropes and the weight of manilla and hemp ropes. Made in England, it was available in 4-inch and 6-inch versions and could be ordered with either London or metric markings.
