"In excellent antique condition."
Rare J Hudson and Co Acme The Metropolitan Police Whistle, working order, Patent 5727-08, nickel-plated classic, 8 cm.
A handsome, compact piece for a desk vignette, curio cabinet, shadow box, or a themed shelf alongside badges, documents, or vintage photography. It also makes a sharp conversation piece in a study, library, or entryway.
According to the Whistle Museum's dating criteria, the thick concave loop (the robust, scooped suspension ring) and the “sand clock” shaped mouthpiece are characteristic construction features seen on early Hudson Acme “The Metropolitan” whistles from the early 20th century. The clearest anchor point is the top-cap stamp “Patent 5727-08,” which places production after 1908; taken together with the period-correct form and markings, these traits align most convincingly with a manufacturing window of circa 1908–1922.
